ZEROPOWER Workshop at NANOENERGY2013 International Conference (10-13 July 2013)


 
A ZEROPOWER Workshop was organized during the international conference NANOENERGY2013, organized by the NiPS Laboratory (University of Perugia).
The event, held in Perugia, Italy (July 10-13 2013), has been the first international conference devoted to nanoenergies. The participants presenting papers on micro and nanoscale energy were from a wide range of EU and international countries including Italy, Germany, UK, Spain, France, Austria, Switzerland, USA, Japan and Ireland. A number of companies participated in the Nanoenergy conference with either presentations or posters.
The European Commission gave a presentation on FET Programmes in Horizon 2020 and there were some discussions over how the results and work from Zeropower could be taken forward in Horizon 2020.

The proceedings of the conference have been published as a special issue of NANOENERGY LETTERS.
 
The event was preceded by a 3 day summer school (NiPS Summer School 2013) for PhD students and young researchers.
NANOENERGY2013 Conference, including the NiPS Summer School 2013, received the contribution of the European research projects ZEROPOWER, NANOPOWER (GA n. 256959) and LANDAUER (GA n. 318287) and of the Office of Naval Research Global (USA).
 
As a part of the Conference a specific session was devoted to the ZEROPOWER Workshop, where a series of talks was given by researchers coming from the ZEROPOWER Consortium. The ZEROPOWER session was held on 13th July 2013 with the following program:
